THE NKANDLA REPORT

The presidents home in Nkandla

The president and his wives.
It’s been nearly a year since the public prosecutor Thuli Madonsela released her report about the upgrades that took place at the president’s home in Nkandla. The upgrades were estimated to R246million or could be more than the estimated amount, thou the initial cost of the upgrade had to be R27million. The report shows that the prices escalated after Zuma’s architect was appointed by the department of public works, he then recommended more luxurious and expensive things.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          When Zuma questioned about the upgrades in Nkandla years before, he told the Parliament that his family used their own funds to build the house and not the state, which was later found not to be true. You would expect him to take responsibility as he was caught and make arrangement on when to pay the money or ask to be given different methods to pay the money but not the president we have always hiding behind his minister and saying he didn’t ask for the upgrades. He then still goes saying he didn’t know about the miss use of funds that took place during the upgrades his home.
I fail to understand how do you allow upgrades to take place in your home without knowing the budget that was made by the architecture, normally architecture would sit down with the owner of the house and make a budget for the upgrades and agree on a budget. But everything that’s done by our president is out of the normal, like who has a visitors center or extensive paving for their cattle kraal and chicken run. Even the former president Nelson Mandela built his kraal at his on express and give did not require a “fire pool”. Whenever his asked to repay the money, certain people become sensitive and unwanted drama is created.
Zuma's daughters on the cast of its for life.
There are people who are trying to avoid the matter or sugar coat it, no matter how much you try to sugar coat this matter it will never make sense to certain South African living in shacks and paying high taxes. I value a person who takes responsibility and looks forward to solving the problem that they created. Take responsibility Mr. President or the EFF will not this slide that easy. The EFF has been trying to get answers from the president on how and will he repay the money, on every chance they get but haven’t achieved anything yet, I personally feel they the only ones who can get through the president. The 30 days that he was given to report back to the prosecutor has long passed. PAY BACK OUR MONEY MR. PRESIDENT WE HAVE GIVEN YOU ENOUGH TIME TO GATHER YOU THOUGHTS AND DO YOU RESEARCH AND GET BACK TO US.
